Villas Muros

Villas Muros is a limited collection of twelve contemporary residences arranged in series of three. We hold villas 7, 8 and 9 — a complete series, not three scattered units. That distinction is the whole point: a buyer can take the set and own an entire cluster with no interleaved neighbours, which is a position that cannot be assembled after the fact.

The name is not decorative. The walls are rammed earth and concrete, built from the ground they stand on, framed in steel and wood. Rammed earth is a slow, laborious technique most developers abandoned decades ago because it costs more and takes longer; what it buys is thermal mass, acoustic depth and a surface that carries the site's own colour. Fifty years from now these walls will look better than the day they were finished.

Each villa is organised around an interior courtyard with a retractable roof — the device that lets the house breathe, taking natural light and cross ventilation on demand and closing when the season asks. The architecture is by Luis Sánchez Renero. Three models are available, between 300 and 360 m² under roof, on private lots averaging 400 m².

The setting is Valle de Los Senderos, a regenerative development three and a half kilometres from the centre of San Miguel, adjacent to an ecological reserve with pedestrian access to the community's amenities. Country life without the isolation that usually comes with it — which makes the series legible three ways: a family compound, a weekend retreat, or a held investment.
